Exclusive! Jaya Ahsan On Her Kadak Singh Co-Star Pankaj Tripathi: ‘He Is An Acting Institution’ – News18

Bangladeshi actor and five-time national award winner Jaya Ahsan, renowned for her prowess in Bengali cinema, made her Bollywood debut with Kadak Singh which was released on ZEE5 last week. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the film features Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjana Sanghi in the lead.

Reflecting on her entry into Bollywood and sharing screen space with Pankaj Tripathi, Jaya said. “Working with Tony Da (director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury) was on my wishlist for a long time. And when it comes to Pankaj Tripathi, who would say no? He is a very giving actor, and as a human, he is very simple and sweet. His efforts to communicate in Bengali, bringing home-cooked food, and cooking on the sets created a warm and comfortable environment. Working with both of them, that too in my debut Hindi film, doubled the joy”

Describing her on-set camaraderie with Pankaj, the actor reminisced, “There’s a scene I share with Pankajji, which is very dreamy and tender. Even while shooting, I knew it would come out beautifully. Pankaj ji made our scenes extremely natural; our bond felt very organic.”

Ahsan emphasized the importance of understanding co-actors for seamless performances. “For me, it’s crucial to know my co-actors, their improvisations, and their way of acting. Working with Pankaj Tripathi was an incredible experience,” she noted. “He is an acting institution, yet he’s also a responsible actor, ensuring his co-stars are comfortable. Once on set, everything became effortless.”

Hailing from Bangladesh, the actor has carved her niche in over a hundred Bengali films, TV shows, and web series, amassing accolades and appreciation for her versatile performances. Her transition to Bollywood marks a significant milestone in her career, solidifying her as a talent transcending boundaries.

Kadak Singh promises a gripping narrative that delves into the intricacies of human relationships against a thrilling backdrop. Ahsan’s portrayal of Nayna, alongside Pankaj Tripathi, has brought an extra layer of depth and emotion to this cinematic masterpiece. Talking about her debut she said, “Kadak Singh is my first Hindi film. And, the character is also exceptional. I was quite excited to be offered this film. So, it didn’t take me any time to say yes to it.”
