EPISTEME’ 23: SRCC To Host India’s Largest UG Finance Festival From April 26

New Delhi: The Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) is back with the latest edition of its famous Finance Festival, ‘Episteme’. Organised by the Finance and Investment Cell of the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Episteme is India’s largest undergraduate finance festival. The Episteme’ 23 fest will be held on April 26, 27, and 29, 2023. The three-day event will have competitions and plenary sessions on a range of topics from the fields of finance, economics, and geopolitics.

Established in 1926 to impart business education, SRCC is inching closer to its 100th year of establishment and is considered one of India’s best commerce colleges in India.

The Finance and Investment Cell at the SRCC was established in 2009 to stimulate financial instincts among the students through various workshops and events. The collaboration, interaction, and exposure from the industry further the cell’s objectives and bridge the gap between pedagogy and practice.

SRCC’s ‘Epistme’ festival is widely acclaimed for its world-class debates and competitions that witness participants from all over the country as well as abroad. The EPISTEME 2022 saw over 14,000 participants. The 2023 edition will see six competitions:

  1. Menace at Metropolis – The ‘Menace’ is the flagship event at Episteme’ 23, which is a stock market simulation, aimed at testing the trading awareness of participants.
  2. Shri Ram Fund Face-Off – This is a Fund-Management competition that would allow participants to explore the varied horizons of fund-management to ensure optimal returns and benefits to their investors.
  3. Shri Ram Case Cade – This competition is designed to help participants explore their problem-solving acumen through critical thinking and exploring multiple dimensions and possibilities to solve a case or problem.
  4. Shri Ram Policy Battle – A conflux of multiple disciplines, this competition aims at testing the multidisciplinary approaches of participants to policy implementation and decision-making, in order to ensure optimal satisfaction to all stakeholders.
  5. Shri Ram Pitch(a)thon – The Pitch(a)thon competition is designed to test the value-adding skills and innovation of participants. The competition shall seek participants to pitch their value-oriented ideas to a team of sharks (experts), and seek their support on their innovation.
  6. Shri Ram M&A Championship – Emphasising on investment banking and mergers, this competition shall test the business interests of participants, invoking rational evaluation of all feasible events.

There will also be several panel discussions and speaker sessions to contemplate economic trends and geopolitical dilemmas. Episteme’ 23 will host several eminent speakers and experts from various fields, including finance, commerce, business, trade, and others. In its previous editions, Episteme hosted personalities such as Infosys founder Narayana Murthy; Zarin Daruwala, cluster CEO of Standard Chartered Bank; Richard Rekhy, former CEO of KPMG India; Geoffrey Okomato, first deputy MD of IMF; V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor of India; Rajiv Memani, chairman and managing partner, EY India; and Sanjeev Krishnan, chairman, PwC India, among others.

In its previous editions, the festival also collaborated with the World Bank Group, BSE Ltd., EY, Bajaj Capital, HDFC Mutual Fund, and Grant Thornton Bharat, among others.
