ISRO has created history by successfully launching Chandrayaan-3 on 14th July. But many employees working in this mission are going through financial crisis. Engineers who made the launch pad of Chandrayaan-3 have not received salary for 17 months. They are running their house by borrowing money from relatives. This information has been given by the news agency IANS.

The news agency said that the engineers of Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) in Ranchi have made mobile launching pads on the orders of ISRO. About 2,700 employees and 450 officers work in this company.

Salary not received, yet order completed on time
ISRO had ordered HEC company based in Ranchi, Jharkhand to make several equipment including mobile launching pad. But the payment was not made according to the order. Despite this, the company completed ISRO’s order ahead of schedule in December 2022.

Employees said – running the house by borrowing from relatives
In May 2023, the English website named Frontline had run the news regarding the matter related to the salary of the employees. It was told in this that the employees are using the Provident Fund (PF) money to run their household. Many employees are surviving by taking loans from relatives.

Central government not ready to help
IANS quoted sources as saying that the HEC company has requested the Ministry of Heavy Industry several times for Rs 1,000 crore. On this, the ministry replied that the central government cannot help.

ISRO launched the Chandrayaan-3 mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on Friday afternoon at 2.35 pm. Chandrayaan was sent into space through LVM3-M4 rocket. Chandrayaan successfully reached the Earth’s orbit after 16 minutes. Its landing on the moon will be on August 23 at 5.47 pm.

India will become the fourth country to do so
ISRO tried to land Chandrayaan on the moon in 2008 and 2019, but India failed. If the lander of Chandrayaan-3 is successful in landing on the moon, then India will become the fourth country to do so. Earlier, America, Russia and China have landed their spacecraft on the moon. ISRO wants to gather information about chemical elements, soil and water in the moon under this mission.
