Books tell – Many songs were written in Greece about Alexander and his sandalwood chair. Obviously these songs must have come here from Macedonia, but in India he was an invader, so there is bitterness towards him in the folk songs here. It had to happen. The opposite of this is found about Izzat Baig. When he came to our country and he fell in love with a beautiful potter, we wrote many songs about him.

When the people of Samarkand were asked whether you had also written something like this, the answer was – in our country, he was simply the son of a rich merchant. And nothing. Lover then he went to your country and made him. So you had to write the song yourself. How do we write? That is to say, whatever is acceptable in one country, may be very good, it is not necessary that the same thing, method or manner should be the same in any other country.

Shashi Tharoor, who is contesting for the Congress President’s election, has suggested a day earlier that whether the election of the party president or a big post, there should be an elite debate between the candidates like in the US and UK i.e. America and England. As in the case of US presidential candidates. As recently in England, the Conservative Party was among the candidates for the post of chief. The suggestion is great.

If this is implemented, whether elections are within the party, or for a higher post, we can get rid of many types of electoral disorders. Fencing, factionalism, swapping of voting machines, brothers will not need any kind of unnecessary effort. Shashi Tharoor has searched many countries. Read a lot Books have been written.

How will it be if this debate method is applied to the rest of the elections as well? What will happen to those who win by looting ballot boxes or voting machines? What will happen to those who keep on casting their own votes by erasing their finger ink?

But since in our country there is a trend of official and unofficial candidates in the election of parties, so their suggestion is not going to be heeded. Even if implemented, the victory will be of the party line. In many other parties except Congress, there is no tradition of elections. There is only announcement and poor media people go on braking. After all, the party is theirs. What would anyone do?

Well, it was a matter of party level. How will it be if this debate method is applied to the rest of the elections as well? People should listen to the debates of the candidates and decide according to their arguments, views as to whom to vote, but what about those who sell liquor and votes in the dark of night for few money? What will happen to those who win by looting ballot boxes or voting machines? What will happen to those who keep on casting their own votes by erasing their finger ink?

In any case, if the candidates debate fund is implemented, then the leaders who think of elections as a gimmick, a kind of management, their days will be gone, but for this we voters will also need to be educated. Educated means understanding. Understanding of false promises of leaders, understanding of their appearances, understanding of the meaning of their words. Unless we have this understanding, there will be no point in arguing among the candidates.

The first condition of electoral reforms is that the voters should be educated or intelligent. This is the key to a healthy and fair election. If the sanctity of elections is ensured in India, then the people here can overcome many troubles. All our political parties and the common people who put them in power will have to make continuous efforts towards this. These pious efforts will prove beneficial for electoral reforms.
