Will Shashi Kapoor contest for the post of Congress President? Amidst this speculation, he met Sonia Gandhi on Monday. Basically, he raised the issue of transparency in the election.

A Congress leader said that Sonia Gandhi said that the election will be held in the truest sense. If someone wants to stand for the presidency, he can stand.

Also, according to the Congress leadership, Sonia Gandhi has said that there is no official party candidate. Elections will be free and transparent.

However, there is no guarantee whether Shashi Tharoor will stand for the post of president or not. Hindustan Times tried to contact the MP about it. However, no response was received in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Congress had earlier informed that the elections could be held from August 21 to September 20. A member of Congress needs the support of at least 10 delegates to run for party president.

Meanwhile, five Congress MPs had already written to Madhusudan Mistry, head of the Congress Interim Election Panel, asking that the list of electors be provided to everyone.

Everyone needs to know who is nominated and who can vote. In response to that letter, Mistry said, I understand your concern. Appreciate your intentions.

He said that those who want to submit their nomination papers should check whether they have identity cards or not. Only those who have identity card can submit nomination papers.
