Why is there so much ruckus on the Standing Committee of MCD
Standing Committee is the most powerful in MCD. This committee looks after the functioning and management of the corporation. Apart from this, the work of financial approval of projects, discussion and finalization of policies before implementation is also in the hands of this committee. That is, this committee is the main decision-making body of the corporation.

The Standing Committee consists of 18 members. This committee consists of a chairperson and a deputy chairperson. They are elected from among the members of the Standing Committee. 6 members are directly elected in MCD house after mayor election. MCD in Delhi is divided into 12 zones. Each zone has a ward committee consisting of all councilors and nominated aldermen of the area. There are also zone representatives in the Standing Committee. In such a situation, if BJP loses here too, then it will have nothing left in MCD.

During the voting, BJP and Aam Aadmi Party councilors raised slogans against each other.
