The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday raided seven locations of Transport Minister Anil Parab in connection with alleged irregularities in a land deal in coastal Dapoli area of ​​Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district. This action has been taken as part of money laundering investigation. ED has raided seven locations in Mumbai and Pune. Searches are being conducted at locations in Dapoli, Mumbai and Pune after the ED registered a fresh case under criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The 57-year-old Parab is a three-time Shiv Sena MLA in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and the state’s transport minister.

Serious allegations against Anil Parab
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) action relates to allegations of purchase of a parcel of land in Dapoli by Parab in 2017 for a consideration of Rs 1 crore, but it was registered in 2019. Some other allegations are also being probed by the agency. It is alleged that later the land was sold to a Mumbai-based cable operator Sadanand Kadam for Rs 1.10 crore in 2020. Meanwhile, a resort was built on this land from 2017 to 2020.

There were also allegations in the investigation of Income Tax Department
A probe by the Income Tax Department had earlier alleged that the construction of the resort started in 2017 and over Rs 6 crore in cash was spent on the construction of the resort. The ED has already questioned Parab in another money laundering case involving former minister Anil Deshmukh.

ED had also tightened its noose on two former ministers
Let us inform that earlier the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also tightened the noose against two ministers of the Uddhav government. Among them were former home minister of the state Anil Deshmukh and minority minister Nawab Malik.
