Why the financial details were not given, the reason has to be given
Political parties who do not submit their financial details on this portal will have to give reasons in writing. Along with this, the report has to be filed in the prescribed format along with CD and pen drive. EC will publish the reports of all the parties online.

EC has written a letter to all political parties regarding this. Joint Director Anuj Chandak told in the letter that apart from transparency, there are two other objectives behind launching this portal.

First, the difficulty in giving financial details in physical form to political parties. Second, timely filing of financial reports. He told that the numbers of official representatives of political parties are fed on the portal. Time to time reminders will be sent to them for filing the report.

It is necessary to give details to the Election Commission under the Representation of the People Act.
Under the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the EC is required to furnish financial details of all political parties from time to time.
