KHARAGPUR. Durga Puja is a famous festival of Bengal. In Bengal, its preparation starts about a month in advance. On this occasion everyone buys new clothes. Pandals are made by each committee. Some of the pandals are so grand and attractive that the skill of the artisan is reflected in it. Some pandals are theme based. In the same vein, M.S. Type Durga Puja Committee has built a theme based Puja pandal, which is very attractive and visible.
In the inauguration ceremony of this pandal, the city’s dignitaries like Swami Vishwarupa of Ramakrishna Math (Old Malincha), Prahlad Singh, Patron of South Eastern Railway Mazdoor Sangh, General Secretary of South Eastern Railway Mazdoor Sangh Balwant Singh, Divisional Engineer (M.) Parimal Samadar, Mrs. Parimal Samadar, Dr. Mrityunjay Bhattacharya were invited.

Worship is celebrated here since 1969. This worship has its own history. Each member of the Puja committee makes one day and night to make the Puja event a success. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Along with this, a colorful program was also organized. Children of Deepu Star Dance Group performed classical and hip hop dance. Rajneesh Singh’s daughter Aashna Singh danced on Shiva Stuti. All the guests extended their warm wishes for Durga Puja and congratulated the organizers for making the event a success.
