The loco pilot (driver) forgot to stop the train at a station in Kerala. He took the train 700 meters ahead. Then realizing the mistake, he reversed the train and brought it back to the station. There is neither station master nor signal at this station, that is why the driver made a mistake.
The incident is of Alappuzha district of Kerala. The loco pilot of 16302 Venad Express going from Thiruvananthapuram to Shoranur was to stop the train at Cheriyanad station at 7.45 am on Sunday. Some passengers were waiting for the train and some passengers had to get down from the train, but the train did not stop.
There is neither signal nor station master at Cheriyanad station.

Cheriyanad station is between Mavelikkara and Chengannur. Railway officials said that no passenger has complained about the incident as no one was in much trouble. It took about 8 minutes to bring the train in reverse. The loco pilot covered this time during the onward journey and the train reached its destination on time as well.
Officials said an explanation would be sought from the loco pilot as the train cannot be taken forward without stopping like this. According to railway officials, it is not a big deal as Cheriyanad is only a halt station.
