Doctor dismissed for making false report of Shopian rape case: Rape case was made against Indian Army soldiers at the behest of Pakistan

On 30 May 2010, during a rape case protest in Shopian, Kashmiri women raised slogans against the army.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Thursday dismissed two government doctors over the 2009 Shopian rape case. He is accused of changing information in two postmortem reports. According to information received from sources, he manipulated the report at the behest of Pakistan.

At that time violence had erupted in Kashmir due to this report and the valley remained closed for 42 days. A senior official of the Jammu and Kashmir government said that Dr. Bilal Dalal Ahmed and Dr. Nighat Shaheen Chillu have been removed from their posts. He made a false case of rape against the Indian Army.

Army personnel were accused of rape and murder
News agency ANI quoted government sources as saying that on May 29, 2009, the bodies of two women, Asiya and Nilofer, were found in a river in Shopian. He died due to drowning in water. The postmortem of both these women was done by Bilal and Nighat.

In the report, Indian Army soldiers were accused of raping and killing her.
