The idol of Siddhi Vinayak Roop should be installed in the house. Vighneshwar Ganesh is auspicious for offices and shops and establishment of Maha Ganapati is auspicious for factories. This has to be said, the General Secretary of Kashi Vidya Parishad, Prof. Ramnarayan Dwivedi and Dr. Ganesh Mishra, astrologer of Central Sanskrit University, Puri. On the occasion of Ganesh Utsav, we met Prof. Spoke to both Dwivedi and Dr. Mishra, let us understand in their own words, how Ganpati should be enshrined in your home, office, shop or factory….

Our home is a place for sleep, rest and family relationships. There should always be happiness, peace and prosperity in the house, so Ganesha should be established while sitting here. We remain active in office, shop or factory. Hard work is required here. Because of this, it is not right according to Vastu to establish Ganpati sitting here. Therefore, at these places, we should establish a standing Ganpati, that is, living in a conscious sense. Due to this the environment of the working place is also filled with positive energy and the work gets done faster.

For the establishment of Ganpati at these three places, we talked to the eminent scholars of the country and got to know what should be the Ganpati to be installed at home and the idol to be installed at work place.

General Secretary of Kashi Vidya Parishad Prof. Ramnarayan Dwivedi tells that Ganeshji should be installed in the house with a palm full. This increases happiness, peace and prosperity. There is no architectural defect. On asking the size of the idol, it is said that if such an idol is of 12 fingers i.e. about 7 to 9 inches, then it is very good. It should not be higher than this in the house. But in temples and pandals there is no rule related to the height of the idol.

How to recognize the form of Ganesha from idols

This Ganesha gives happiness and prosperity. He is worshiped before every auspicious work. Those who increase the auspicious results of every work. That is why he is called Siddhi Vinayak. They should be worshiped at home.

For the detailed information about the three forms of Ganesha, we talked to Dr. Ganesh Mishra, astrologer and Vastu expert of Central Sanskrit University. They say that by looking at the trunk, one can recognize the idol of Ganesha. Those whose trunk is bent towards the left are Siddhi Vinayak. Giving the details of his idol, quoting the Maymatma text of Vastu Shastra, he said that the idol should be of red colour. He should have three eyes, four arms and a big belly.

The right tooth is broken and the left one is complete. Wear the thread of the snake, the thighs are thick and the knees are big. The right leg is bent, the left is turned down. Giving blessings in one hand and ankush (weapon) in the other. Hold Modak in one hand and a rosary of Rudraksha in the other. There should be a crown on the head, a sitting idol wearing a necklace around the neck.

On what kind of idol should be in the work place, it is said that Ganapati with the trunk bent on the right is Vighneshwar. These should be installed only in the shop and office. His idol is yellow in colour. Black eyes, ears big according to the face, crown on the head and broad forehead on which tilak should be applied. You are wearing a big belly and a snake thread. There should be such an idol with eight hands. Blessing in one hand and lotus, ankush, scripture, conch, bow, loop, modak in the rest. Standing like this should be Ganesh ji

Mahaganpati remains auspicious for the installation of idols in factories. The color of his idol can be red or gray like smoke. There is one tooth, the trunk is bent to the right. Wearing three eyes, big belly and snake thread. Who should have ten hands. They should have lotus, ankush, book, chakra, modak, conch shell, loop, bow, trident and one hand giving blessings.

installation in east or north direction
The idol should be placed in the east, north or north-east corner (between north-east). Apart from this, install Ganesh ji at the Brahma Sthan i.e. the empty space in the middle of the house. The idol should not be kept in the bedroom. One should avoid doing Ganesha installation under the stairs and also near the bathroom.

Parvati made Ganesh out of clay
Pro. Dwivedi and Dr. Mishra consider Ganesha of clay as the best. For this it is said that the soil has natural purity. Parts of land, water, air, fire and sky are present in the idol made from it. That is, it is made up of five elements. It has also been told in the story of the birth of Ganesh ji that Goddess Parvati had made an effigy of clay with the desire of her son, then Shiva put his life in it. He became Ganesha.

Use soil from the root of holy river, Shami or Peepal
Quoting from the Puranas, it is said that the idol made of clay from the root of Shami or Peepal is auspicious. Apart from this, idols can also be made from the soil of Ganga or other holy rivers. For this, just keep in mind that wherever the soil is taken, the idol of Lord Ganesha should be made from the soil inside by removing four fingers from the top.

Ten types of Ganesha including coconut, turmeric and betel nut
Apart from clay, idols made of cow dung, betel nut, white madar root, coconut, turmeric, silver, brass, copper, crystal and wood of some revered trees can also be established. Astrologers believe that the most belief is that of Ganesha made of clay and betel nut. Worshiping them fulfills their wishes quickly.
