Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute Ayushman cards under PMJAY-MA scheme in Gujarat through video conferencing on October 17 at 4 pm. This information was given by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Let us tell you that as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi started the Mukhyamantri Amrutam (MA) scheme in the year 2012.

PM launched Jan Arogya Yojana in 2018
Seeing the success of this scheme in the state of Gujarat, PM Modi launched Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in 2018. Under this scheme, up to Rs 5 lakh is given to every family per year. There is no limit on the number and age of family members in this plan. Under the scheme, the beneficiaries are given financial assistance for hospitalization for primary, second and third level care.

There was a merger in the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana
The Government of Gujarat merged Mukhyamantri Amrutam Yojana with Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in 2019 and due to this it has now been renamed as PMJAY-MA. Now after this merger the beneficiaries of MA/MAV and AB-PMJAY have become eligible for unified PMJAY-MA card.
