On June 5, Eknath Shinde had announced to contest the elections together. On the other hand, Shrikant Shinde’s BJP is at loggerheads with the local leaders.

There are reports of rift between some leaders of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and BJP in Kalyan constituency of Maharashtra. On 8 June local BJP leaders passed a resolution not to support Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

In response to this, CM Eknath’s son Shrikant Shinde said that this rift is only between the local leaders. There is no misunderstanding between the big leaders of both the parties. I am even ready to resign so that there is no impact on the alliance.

Case registered against BJP leader, Shiv Sena accused
The tussle between the two parties in Maharashtra is over Nandu Joshi, president of BJP’s Dombivli East division. A molestation case has been registered against Joshi. Local BJP leaders have alleged that Joshi was framed by Shiv Sena leaders to take political revenge.

Resolution passed in presence of cabinet minister
On June 8, a meeting was held in Kalyan constituency in the presence of BJP cabinet minister Ravindra Chavan regarding Nandu Joshi’s case. Kalyan is also the constituency of Shrikant. In the meeting, local BJP leaders passed a resolution before Chavan, stating that they would not support Srikkanth in the coming elections.

Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde’s two answers…

Will campaign for whichever candidate
On hearing the non-support, Shrikant Shinde said that he does not expect any post and the senior leaders of the alliance will decide who to nominate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Shinde further said, even if I am not nominated, but we will unanimously campaign for whoever is the candidate and make him win.

Shinde said- I am also ready to resign
Shrikant Shinde said that the party would try to bring back Prime Minister Narendra Modi to power in 2024. There is no misunderstanding between senior leaders of both the parties. He said that Shiv Sena’s aim is to form a BJP-Shiv Sena coalition government at the Centre. If someone opposes the work we are doing in this direction, if someone is angry and if there is any disturbance in the alliance, then I am even ready to resign from my post.
