Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, signed 8 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with agencies of Ministries of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship and IBM on digital skilling and skilling in emerging technologies. In his keynote address to announce this partnership, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasised that India, with its sizable and youthful population, is on an upward trajectory of tremendous growth.

To capitalise on this demographic advantage, it is critical to equip future generations with the skills necessary to flourish in today’s competitive employment market. This collaboration is a major leap towards fulfilling our goal of a ‘Empowered India,’ since it entails the extension of digital skills training and competency development in new technologies via the IBM SkillsBuild platform, as stated by Pradhan. The press release states that Pradhan added that the connections that will be made today will greatly contribute in helping students reap the benefits of the power of technology, turning them into the future of prosperity and entrepreneurship in our country.

Under the terms and conditions of the MoU, specifically designed courses would be made accessible to equip India’s young with future-oriented skills. According to the press release, this partnership aims to highlight the collaborative development of educational content to give students at different levels—including those pursuing schooling, higher education, and vocational training—expertise in cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence and generative AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and a variety of professional development skills.

Furthermore, IBM will update CBSE’s AI curriculum for Grades 11 and 12, as well as create a cyber skilling and blockchain course for high school students that will be offered on IBM SkillsBuild.

IIBM will collaborate closely with the Department of Higher Education to onboard associated students and teachers to IBM SkillsBuild, providing them with access to digital material, experiential learning, and new skills that will enable them to pursue technical fields of study.
