LG Saxena was asked that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is constantly questioning the degree of the Prime Minister.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena on Sunday said without naming Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that some people remain uneducated even after having IIT degree. LG’s statement comes at a time when Kejriwal is constantly questioning the degree of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

LG Saxena was asked that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is constantly questioning the degree of the Prime Minister. On this Saxena said- Yes, I have also heard that some things have been said in the Vidhansabha, but one should never be proud of his degree. Degrees are receipts for the expenses of education. Education is there, which shows the knowledge of man. Such things prove that some people remain uneducated even after having IIT degree.

BJP raised questions on the failure of children
A day earlier, the BJP had raised the issue of failure and low marks of the children of government schools in Delhi. On this, Kejriwal tweeted and wrote – If some children remain weak in studies, then we will teach them by setting up extra classes. One of these children will become the PM of the country in future. We do not want anyone with a fake degree to become the Prime Minister in future.

Court fined Kejriwal for PM’s degree
In April 2016, Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Central Information Commission (CIC) demanding that information related to PM Modi’s educational qualifications be made public. He wrote in the letter that the degree should be made public to remove any confusion on this issue.

After this, the CIC was asked to provide information to Kejriwal about PM Modi’s MA degree from Gujarat University. This order of CIC was challenged by the University in the High Court. Following this, Justice Biren Vaishnav, a single judge of the Gujarat High Court, set aside the 2016 order of the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC). The court had also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Kejriwal in this case.
