The Karkardooma Court has sentenced two people in the February 2020 riots in Delhi. The two people found guilty are father and son. Under the sentence, the father has been imprisoned for 3 years and the son for 7 years.

Along with sentencing on Friday, the court also made strict comments on father Mithan Singh and his son Johnny Kumar. The court said that instead of showing the right path to the son, the father himself resorted to violence.

Riot is the most violent form of public disorder
The court said, communal riots are the most violent form of public disorder. It affects the society. Communal riots are a big threat, which is a serious threat to the feeling of brotherhood among citizens. Communal riots cause damage not only to life and property but also to the social fabric.

Instructions for Submitting DVR and Voice Sample Reports
On the other hand, in another case related to the Delhi riots, on Tuesday, the High Court has directed the FSL to submit the digital video recorder (DVR) and voice sample reports related to the 2020 riots. This audio is related to the case in which it was alleged that some youths were forced to sing the national anthem during the 2020 riots in Delhi.

The riots that started in Delhi on 23 February 2020 ended on 25 February. 42 people lost their lives in this riot in North East Delhi. Rioters created havoc in 11 police station areas including Jaffrabad, Seelampur, Bhajanpura, Jyoti Nagar, Karawal Nagar, Khajuri Khas, Gokulpuri, Dayalpur and New Usmanpur in Delhi. FIRs were registered against a total of 755 people in this riot.
