Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has ordered the recovery of Rs 97 crore from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). For this, the Chief Secretary has been given 15 days time. Kejriwal is accused of spending government money on the party’s campaign, which is in violation of Supreme Court guidelines.

LG says that Kejriwal had published political advertisements as government advertisements. The High Court had formed a committee of three members in August 2016 to investigate the amount spent on advertisements. This committee submitted its report on 16 September 2016, in which AAP was found guilty.

Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira tweeted a copy of the RTI information in June. He said that only in the month of April, 24 crores were spent on publicity. Tell Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann that in this way they had promised to fill the coffers of Punjab.

Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warding, Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira and BJP leader Manjinder Sirsa have raised questions on CM Bhagwant Mann regarding this. Khaira said that the government will save only 8 crores in a year from One MLA, One Pension and here it has spent so much in one month. BJP leader Manjinder Sirsa had said in June that the Aam Aadmi Party government had taken a loan of 9 thousand crores in the last 3 months. In the month of April alone, the government spent 24.40 crores on publicity and advertisements.
