The Supreme Court has agreed to constitute a five-judge Constitution Bench to hear the matter. In fact, the Delhi government is demanding complete control over the officers, including transfer-posting. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on behalf of the Center had demanded to refer the matter to the Constitution Bench for hearing.

During the hearing held today, advocate AM Singhvi, appearing for the Aam Aadmi Party, said, there is a need for urgent hearing on this issue. He said, this matter is very important. And it should be listed. To this the CJI said, we will list it at the earliest.
