The first budget of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will be debated in the Punjab Assembly session today. In which the biggest issue of opposition will surround the government for not giving 1000 rupees to every woman above the age of 18 years. Finance Minister Harpal Cheema presented the budget in the Punjab Assembly yesterday. However, in view of the bad condition of the treasury, he did not mention his election promise. Which the opponents are now preparing to make a big issue.

Preparation for siege on health issue
The opposition parties will surround the Punjab government on the issue of health and especially the Mohalla Clinic. The government has allocated a budget to build 117 Mohalla Clinics in the budget. Out of which 77 Mohalla Clinics will be operational from this 15th August. Opponents argue that the government had talked about mohalla clinics, that is, there should be a clinic in every locality. In contrast, a mohalla clinic is being opened in one assembly constituency.

Focus on education and health
The government has focused on education and health in the budget of 1.55 lakh crore presented yesterday. The budget for education has been increased by 16%. At the same time, the health budget has been increased by 24%. This budget will be 4731 crores in 2022-23 as compared to 2021-22.
