CUJ Convocation: President Murmu Urges Students To Work For Prosperous And Developed India

President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday, urged students to work and contribute towards building a prosperous India, news agency PTI reported. The honourable President of India made the remarks while addressing the convocation ceremony of the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand.During her address, she stated that India is among the youngest countries in the world with a 55% population of citizens under the age of 25 years. Presently the fifth largest economy in the world, India is sparing high to emerge as the third largest economy in the world by 2030, she added. 

Since we all know that we have set a target for ourselves of becoming a developed nation by 2047, it brings up a great opportunity for students of the country to accordingly harness the situation in an effective way, President Murmu said. She further urged students to take a pledge of working towards the development and betterment of the country, irrespective of fields they wish to work in and ensure to build a society that is harmonious and promises a dignified life to every individual. 

In her address, she also advised students to think upon uplifting the lives of deprived sections through their work contributions. SHe further said that she shares a connection with the people of Jharkhand, especially with the tribal brothers and sisters.

She also underlined that there are many traditions in tribal lifestyle that have the potential to improve the lives of people of other communities. The lifestyle of tribal people strikes a balance with nature and if we learn from this lifestyle and associated methodologies, we can overcome key challenges like global warming, she added. 

At the convocation ceremony, Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren and Governor CP Radhakrishnan were also present. The state government is rigorously working to encourage students for research and innovation, besides ensuring quality education, CM Soren said while congratulating students at the convocation ceremony. Speaking at the event, Governor Radhakrishnan said that students should not only work to build and enhance their careers, but also for the betterment of the society.
