When the talk of the tricolor Ravana started spreading in the city, the managers in a hurry changed the dress of the effigy. Only after this the residents of the city allowed Ravana to be burnt.

The effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnad were burnt at Dussehra Ground located in Sector-4 in Karnal. Many dignitaries including Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, Chief Minister representative Sanjay Bathla, social worker Brij Gupta were specially present on this occasion.

The crowd chanted Jai Shri Ram’s cheers

This time also the effigies of Ravana 60 feet and Kumbhakarna and Meghnath were made 50 feet. Whereas Lanka was 22 feet long and 15 feet wide.

MP said: No matter how powerful the lie is, the victory is of the truth
Member of Parliament Sanjay Bhatia said that no matter how powerful the evil and the lie, in the end only truth and good win. Ravana had conquered all the three worlds, but even today after thousands of years, the effigy of Ravana is burnt. Everyone should take a pledge that whenever there is a chance, one has to stand with the good and the truth.

Mayor Renu Bala said that there is a feeling in the whole country on this day that the evil of Ravana’s effigy should be eradicated. Ravana is burnt for this so that the ego evil of the person can be ended.
