Covid In India: Delhi Records 689 Fresh Infections, Mumbai Sees Lowest Tally Since April 10

Delhi recorded 689 new Covid-19 infections and three fatalities, with a case positivity rate of 29.42 percent, whereas Mumbai reported 59 Covid-19 cases, dropping below the 100-case threshold for the first time since April 10, when 95 cases were detected, according to data released by respective health and civic body department on Monday (April 24).

Delhi Covid Cases: With Three Deaths, Fatality Toll In National Capital Stands At 26,600

According to data shared by the health department on Monday, Delhi had 948 new Covid-19 infections and three fatalities, with a case positivity rate of 29.42. With the new deaths, the national capital’s pandemic death toll has risen to 26,600. The total number of cases is 20,34,061.

According to the data, 371 of the city’s 7,974 Covid beds are occupied.

On Sunday, there were 948 Covid-19 infections and two fatalities in Delhi, with a case positivity rate of 25.69. On Saturday, it had 1,515 cases and six fatalities, with a case positivity rate of 26.46.

On Friday, the department did not issue a bulletin.

On Thursday, the city had three fatalities and 1,603 new caseload additions, with a positivity rate of 26.75.

Maharashtra Covid Cases: State Records A Dip In Cases With No Fatalities Today

The state of Maharashtra reported 226 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, down from nearly 550 the previous day, bringing the total to 81,62,120, with no new deaths linked to the infection, according to the health department.

According to a health department report, the death toll remained unchanged at 1,48,504.

Maharashtra recorded 545 cases and two deaths on Sunday.

According to the report, 505 patients recovered from the respiratory illness in the last 24 hours, bringing their total count to 80,07,840 and leaving the state with a caseload of 5,776. The total number of tests performed in the last 24 hours increased to 8,69,02,863 from 7,364 at government laboratories, 1,658 at private labs, and 132 by self-testing kits, it said.

Mumbai on Monday reported 59 Covid-19 cases, bringing the total down below 100 for the first time since April 10, when 95 cases were discovered. It brought the total to 11,61,946, while the death toll remained at 19,761.
