Bharat Ratna singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on Sunday at the age of 92. Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on January 8 due to corona and pneumonia, where she breathed her last. The whole country is saddened by the demise of ‘Bharat Ratna’ Lata Mangeshkar. Many big personalities of the country including President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh have condoled the death of Lata Mangeshkar and paid tribute by sharing posts on social media.

Prime Minister expressed grief

Paying tribute to Swar Kokila, PM Modi said, ‘Today, very sad news has come for all of us. Our Lata didi left us. Merged in the divine. Yesterday was the festival of Vasant Panchami. We were worshiping Maa Sharda. Today, the goddess of music, Lata ji went on the eternal journey of Brahmaloka. His extension did not just extend to songs. There are many people like me who would proudly say that he had a close relationship with Lata didi. They will meet every moment expressing their affection for Lata ji. This shows how huge the personality of Lataji is.’

‘She used to irrigate her relationship with sensibilities. Today we are all sad. The whole country is sad. Souls like Lata ji are found as a boon sometimes in centuries. He got a new perspective of looking at India. Wherever you go in the world, you will definitely find the fans of Lata ji. Today she may not be with us physically, but will always be in the form of voice and affection. I pay homage to Lata ji with a heavy heart.
