The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Pfizer’s PaxLovid COVID-19 pill. This pill can be given to high-risk corona infected who are 12 years of age or older. When the pill was approved, Patrizia Cavazzoni, director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, said it was a big step forward in fighting the pandemic. He said that this will be the first time that corona patients will be treated through the pill.

Earlier, American drug maker Pfizer had said that their antiviral Kovid pill is 90% effective against corona. High risk patients can be saved from death or hospitalization with this medicine. According to lab data, this drug has also proved effective on the new Omicron variant of Corona.
