In the midst of a political tussle over ticket in Delhi, the State Congress and the Youth Congress (YC) have come face-to-face. The party’s Young Brigade has caused maximum controversy, especially in Kinnaur, Sarkaghat and Bharmour seats. While deciding the tickets for these seats, there were heated arguments many times between the YuC leader and the state Congress leaders.

First the corporation’s ticket cleared, then stopped

There is a lot of controversy regarding Kinnaur seat. Here the party has held the ticket of sitting MLA Jagat Negi. Sources reveal that on Thursday, the high command had confirmed the ticket of Youth Congress state president Negi Nigam Bhandari.

Argued that Bhandari is a militant youth leader. He also participated in the 53-km ‘Bharat Jodo’ Yatra with Rahul Gandhi. As soon as the ticket was cleared, Nigam Bhandari left for Kinnaur from Delhi. Halfway through, he was called and informed to hold the ticket.

Jagat Negi summoned Delhi

Meanwhile, the high command came to know that the sitting MLA of Kinnaur, Jagat Singh Negi, is going to file his nomination as an independent on October 25 and the entire district executive has warned of resignation. In view of this, state Congress in-charge Rajiv Shukla called Jagat Negi to Delhi in the night itself. Kinnaur ticket will be finalized after consultation with them today.

He advocated for Nigam Bhandari

If sources are to be believed, Youth Congress National President BV Srinivas and state in-charge Amarpreet Lali are vigorously lobbying the corporation Bhandari.

Sukhwinder Sukhu has been adamant on getting ticket to Pawan Thakur from the beginning of Sarkaghat seat. In 2017 too, on his behest, Pawan Thakur was made a candidate by cutting the ticket of former minister Rangeela Rama Rao. Then Pawan Thakur had lost the election, so the pressure to change this ticket was too much.

Pratibha Singh and Mukesh Agnihotri have been lobbying for tickets from Sarkaghat to former minister Rangeela Rama Rao and one of Yadopati. In the end, Sukhu came here. This has angered two-time NSUI President and currently working president of Youth Congress, Yadopati Thakur.

State Congress and Youth Congress leaders also clashed several times over Bharmour seat of Chamba district. In the end, the high command decided to field former minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri from here.

Rar may increase in elections

The bitter attitude of the State Congress and Young Brigade leaders can further increase the ruckus in the party. The party may have to bear the loss in the assembly elections. Behind this, those party leaders are being blamed, who are playing the number game to become the CM.

Controversy over these seats too

Candidates are yet to be cleared for Jaisinghpur seat of Kangra, Manali of Kullu, Hamirpur in Hamirpur, Paonta Sahib seat of Sirmaur. Kirnesh Jung from Paonta Sahib, Ashish Sharma from Hamirpur, Bhuvneshwar Gaur and Hari Chand Sharma from Manali and Yadvendra Goma from Jaisingh.
