Senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor will contest for the post of Congress President. Starting the election campaign, Kharge told the media on Sunday that he had told Tharoor that it would have been better if there was a consensus candidate for the post of President, but Tharoor did not listen to him.

Kharge said, “I had told this to Tharoor on a phone call after my nomination. In response, Tharoor said that there should be competition in democracy. If someone has decided to contest elections, how can you stop him? Tharoor is my younger brother, it is a family issue. There is no G-23 camp now.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations for the post of President is October 8. The election will be held on October 17. The counting of votes will take place on October 19 and the results will be declared on the same day.

Kharge said – Will consult with Gandhi family on becoming president
Kharge said he would consult the Gandhi family and senior leaders on becoming the president. At the same time, on the BJP’s charge of deceiving the election and keeping the real control with the Gandhi family, he asked whether elections have ever been held in the BJP. Who chose JP Nadda?

About a month ago, Mallikarjun Kharge had said that he would put pressure on Rahul Gandhi to become the president. Now Kharge himself is a strong contender for the post of president.

People want to see debate between candidates: Shashi Tharoor
Shashi Tharoor said that there should be a public debate among the candidates. People want to see such a debate and are ready for it. This will generate people’s interest in the party in the same way as it was recently in the election of the leadership post of the Conservative Party in Britain. The Nehru-Gandhi family has always had and will remain a special place in the hearts of the members of the Congress Party.

Waiting for the decision of the high command regarding the Chief Minister in Rajasthan
Waiting for the decision of the Congress high command regarding the Chief Minister in Rajasthan. However, after returning from Delhi, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is continuously giving such statements, so that the message can be clear among the MLAs that the winds of change have cooled down.

On Sunday, Gehlot attacked the pilot faction and said- ‘When the CM starts leaving, then 80-90% of the MLAs leave him. Because the new one who is coming, he will make the minister, only that will get the work done. I don’t even consider it bad. But when the MLAs came to know that I would become the Speaker and a new CM would come, what was the reason that the whole 102 got so angry that they did not listen to anyone. Why were they so afraid? Research should be done on why this happened.

Gehlot said – How can I cheat 102 such MLAs who saved my government, so I accepted to apologize to the Congress President.
