On the other hand, senior Congress leader Manish Tewari has taken a different opinion from the party line. He has described this scheme as a step in the right direction of the government.

In a conversation with a TV channel, Tiwari said – At this time the country needs a mobile army, a young army. Whether you like it or not, but I think due to the One Rank-One Pension scheme, the increasing pension burden would have overtaken the government’s counting.

Army needs reform – Manish Tewari
Tiwari has given different statements on several occasions in the past as well. He said that more expenditure is needed on technology and weapons. Most of the money is spent on this. The war nature has changed in the last 10 years and this is very important. If we compete with it 30 times, then our Armed Forces are more prepared at the present time. Today our army is more dependent on technology and modern weapons. Most of the people in this are young. In such a situation, there is a dire need of such reforms in the army.
