AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in Delhi has been accused in the Waqf Board corruption case that he and his associates have earned crores of rupees in the scam. In fact, on Friday, Amanatullah was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) for violating the rules in Delhi Waqf Board recruitment. Khan was then sent to four-day ACB custody.

Amanatullah accused of earning crores
Complainant Hafiz Irshad Qureshi told India Today that there are allegations against Amanatullah that he got many people admitted to the board in violation of all norms and government guidelines. Some of those appointed were relatives and close associates of Amanatullah Khan.

Qureshi claimed that corruption was going on for the last four years. Amanatullah Khan and his close associates have committed a scam of crores of rupees. He said that Amanatullah was also told to act legally, but he did not do so.

Khan faces 33 charges
According to media reports, Khan is facing 33 charges including manipulation in the bank account of the Waqf Board, construction of rent in the board’s property, purchase of vehicles, corruption, appointment of his close ones. ACB had registered a case in 2020.

Khan has been accused of scam between 2018 and 2020. In August this year, the ACB wrote a letter to the LG that Amanatullah should be removed from the post of Waqf Board chairman because his nature is very aggressive and he is criminal.

Unlicensed pistol and 24 lakh cash found in ACB raid

Raids were conducted at five places including the house of MLA Amanatullah Khan. 24 lakh cash and two pistols were recovered from the hideouts of two close associates of Amanatullah. One of these pistols is foreign, which is not licensed. Apart from the MLA’s house, the ACB had raided five locations in Jamia, Okhla and Gafoor Nagar in connection with the scam related to the Waqf Board. Amanatullah Khan kept weapons and cash in the house

Amanatullah Khan’s close aide and business partner Hamid Ali Khan had made a big disclosure during the interrogation. According to Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sources, Hamid told that Amanatullah had kept arms and cash in his house. All transactions were done at his behest. Hamid was arrested on Saturday morning.
