Ajay Nandal Sihag, the husband of Commonwealth Games 2022 bronze medalist wrestler Pooja Nandal Sihag, has died under suspicious circumstances. Ajay’s father has accused fellow wrestler Ravi of drugging. After which the police has registered a case against Ravi on the complaint of Ajay’s father. At the same time, the health of Ajay’s fellow wrestler Sonu alias Lukka has also deteriorated. After which the police got the post-mortem of Ajay’s body done by the board of doctors and handed over the body to the relatives.

Please tell that wrestler Ajay went to celebrate his friend’s birthday party on Saturday, but did not return. The family got information that he was admitted in the hospital. He died before the family could reach. Police are yet to interrogate both the wrestlers who went to the birthday party with Ajay.

Ajay’s father Bijendra Singh demanded justice for his son and wrote to the police for a fair investigation in the matter. Bijendra Singh said that my son should get justice. Due to which my son has died, the police should take strictest action against him. At the same time, the police say that it will be clear only after investigation why Ravi fed the drug.

Bijendra Singh, a resident of village Garhi Bohar, told the police that his son Ajay works in the CISF. Meher Singh used to practice in the arena located in Dev Colony. Due to Ajay’s posting in Delhi, he used to come home on Saturday and Sunday. Came home on 26th August also. After this he went to a friend’s birthday party in his arena.

Late in the night, the family got information that Ajay is admitted in the emergency of a private hospital. The family reached the hospital, but by then Ajay had died. Ajay was accompanied by two other boys Ravi, resident of Karor and Sonu alias Lukka, resident of Sultanpur village of Hisar. They alleged that Ravi had given Ajay an overdose of the drug, due to which he died.

Cause of death will be known after investigation

Investigating officer Harpal Singh said that the statement of Ajay’s father Bijendra Singh has been recorded, on the basis of which the police have registered a case against wrestler Ravi for feeding drugs. The inspection of the matter is going on. The accused will be questioned as to why he fed the drug. If the party was going on then what happened suddenly that the wrestler died.

Both were married last year

Originally from Hansi, Hisar, Pooja was married to Ajay Nandal in November last year. Ajay was also wrestling since 2010. Even after marriage, Pooja did not stop practicing wrestling regularly and won a bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022. There was an atmosphere of happiness in the family after Pooja won the medal, which has now turned into mourning.
