CM Mann’s strictness on gun culture in Punjab: Arms license will be reviewed, posting photos with weapons on social media banned

After the murder of a Hindu leader and Dera lover in Punjab in the past, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government, taking strict steps, has banned the issuance of arms licences. Not only this, orders have also been issued to investigate all the arms licenses issued so far in the coming three months. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Punjab has issued its notification and sent it to all the districts.

In the notification issued by the government of CM Bhagwant Mann, strict steps have been taken against gun culture. CM Bhagwant Mann has asked for a complete review of all arms licenses issued so far within the next 3 months. Along with this, the creation of new original licenses has also been banned. Unless the DC is personally satisfied and a new original license will not be issued. Not only this, the display of weapons on social media has also been completely banned. Orders have also been issued to the police for random checking in the state.

Case will be registered against hate speech
CM Bhagwant Mann has tried to curb hate speech. Strict action will be taken against anyone who uses abusive language against any caste, community or endangers the personal safety of others.

Gun culture will not be promoted in songs
The government has also banned promoting gun culture in songs. Songs glorifying weapons or violence will be banned. Not only this, there has also been a ban on carrying weapons in mass gatherings, religious programs, weddings or other functions. This puts the life and property of the public at risk. Orders have been given to register an FIR against those who do this.

33 police officers also transferred
This is the second strict step of the state government after the violent incidents in Punjab in the past. Earlier on Saturday, the Mann government transferred 33 IPS and PPS police officers in the state. Under this, the police commissioners of all the three big cities of the state were also changed. Apart from this, the police officers of STF and AGTF were also reshuffled.
