In the Adampur by-election of Haryana, the performance of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann was much fainter than expected. Bhagwant Mann had campaigned fiercely for AAP’s candidate Satendra Singh in the by-election, including holding an election rally, roadshow.

He appealed to the people to vote for AAP on issues like education, health, electricity and water etc. At the same time, Mann had claimed that people are looking for a political change with AAP. But the people of Adampur did not trust AAP. AAP candidate’s security has been forfeited.

AAP’s convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also had a road show in Adampur. But Kejriwal’s road show was canceled due to a bridge accident there when AAP’s priority was Gujarat. But Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann continued to campaign for the Delhi model with all his might. Despite this, the people of Adampur did not give basis to any of his claims and promises.

As a result, Satendra Singh, who left the Congress and became the candidate of AAP, could get only 3420 votes and AAP remained the political party behind. AAP’s lack of strong cadre in Haryana like Punjab and distance from Haryana after the party formed the government in Punjab was also a major reason for AAP’s defeat in Adampur by-election.

Grandson maintains family victory
In the Adampur by-election of Haryana, Mr. Bhajanlal’s grandson BJP candidate Bhavya Bishnoi has retained the victory of the family by waving the flag of victory by 67 thousand 492 votes. He defeated Jayaprakash of INC by 15,740 votes. While INLD candidate Koorada Ram had to be satisfied with only 5248 votes and AAP candidate Satendra Singh, who was behind, got only 3420 votes.

SYL case puts AAP on edge
Before the Adampur by-election, the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) issue between Haryana and Punjab heated up. There was a meeting between the CMs of both the states. But CM Punjab Bhagwant Mann had categorically refused to consider any middle path or any kind of treaty and canal construction in the matter. CM Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar also said that CM Bhagwant Mann is not ready to accept anything in SYL case. As a result, AAP has suffered a crushing defeat in the Adampur by-election.

AAP’s fort was also demolished in Sangrur by-election
About 3 months after Bhagwant Mann took oath as the CM, by-elections were held for the Lok Sabha seat of Sangrur district of Punjab. But even here Bhagwant Mann could not save his fort. Two-time MP and former IPS officer and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) candidate Simranjit Singh Mann won from here. While AAP’s victory in the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat was also being considered if the government formed the government by registering a massive victory in the Punjab Assembly elections. But AAP first got a crushing defeat from here.
