Chris Evans expressed his desire to work in a fantasy film like Lord of the Rings, The Neverending Story at the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle.

Actor Chris Evans recently appeared on a panel at the famous Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, USA. The Captain America actor talked about the vast universe of superhero films and revealed that he wants to work on a fantasy film. Evans fondly spoke of films like the Lord of the Rings and The Neverending Story and said, “I’m a big fan of fantasy films. I love Lord of the Rings. I love The Neverending Story,” He added, “I don’t know if I fit into them. I don’t know if I’m even considered for them.” He jokingly asserted his commitment to the fantasy genre and said, “I can wear pointy ears! I can shoot a bow & arrow!”

Interestingly, Evans’s comments caught the attention of the cast members of the Lord of the Rings franchise who also appeared on another panel at the comic con. While speaking on a panel hosted by Popverse, actors Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, and John Rhys-Davies said they would love to welcome Evans into the LOTR universe. Elijah Wood, who plays Frodo Baggins in LOTR, said, “I love Chris Evans. I love all the choices that he makes as an actor and beyond all the Marvel stuff, but yeah. And listen, apparently there’s going to be more stories told in Middle Earth, so Warner Bros. has deemed. What those will be, we have no idea, but there are plans to make more movies.”

Actor Sean Astin who plays Samwise Gamgee in the film trilogy praised Evans’s inclination towards fantasy films and said, “You look at his success and how the industry sees him, and yet he’s got the wonder – he’s protected the kind of childlike imagination and wonder that he experienced when he watched these movies. When he was probably pretty young, right? He has that aspiration to do something that has Lord of the Rings’ kind of literary heft and stuff. So you know, good for him.”

Over the years, Evans has worked on many films that are based on comic books. His most popular role is playing Captain America in the Marvel Comics Cinematic Universe (MCU). Evans has appeared in seven MCU movies as Captain America. He has also played Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movies. Back in 2010, he played Jake Jensen in The Losers based on the Vertigo Comic series. He also starred in The Snowpiercer as the protagonist Curtis. This was his first non-Marvel comic book character. In 2007 he voiced for Casey Jones inTMNT, an animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film based on the comic book series of the same name.
