A children’s session will be held in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on June 12. Children up to the age of 17 years will participate in it. In a press conference in Shimla, Vidhansabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that out of 1085 children from 9 states of the country, 68 children would be selected in the children’s session. These children will participate in the proceedings of the assembly house. In this, children will play the role of Chief Minister, Leader of Opposition, Assembly Speaker, Cabinet Minister and Assembly Member.

Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that how should the government of children organized by Digital Bal Mela and sponsored by LIC be? The names of 68 children will be announced under the campaign. He said that the process going on for the last three months would come to an end on June 12 and we would get the child legislators representing the children in the Himachal Vidhansabha.

The Assembly Speaker said that during this entire campaign, 1,085 children had registered their video entries on the website of Digital Bal Mela. These children include children from a total of 9 states, including children from Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi.

Kuldeep Pathania said that the selection of children has been done by the team of experts constituted by Digital Bal Mela. It includes stalwarts from various fields like politics, education, arts, journalism. The election process was completed in three parts. In the first part, 585 children fulfilling the video criteria were selected.

In the second phase, a panel of 285 children was selected on the basis of expression. Now in the third and last phase, the selection process of 68 children is going on based on the importance of the issues raised by the children and the need for suggestions, the result of which will be released soon.

Swastik Negi, a student of Class IX at St. Edward’s School, Shimla, wants to make a comprehensive change in the education system of Himachal by becoming the Education Minister, so that the youth can be prepared for self-employment. Arunoday Sharma, a class VI student of the same school, wants to play the role of Social Justice and Empowerment Minister.

Priya Sharma, coordinator of the Digital Bal Mela, told that Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh will attend the children’s session as a guest and Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu will bless the children as the chief guest.
