Child care leave for male employees in Haryana: 730 days leave in full service; Benefit will be available from February 23, notification issued

Now single male government employees will also be able to avail Child Care Leave (CCL) of two years in Haryana. He will be able to take leave up to 730 days in his entire job. Two years for taking care of two children up to 18 years and no age limit in case of taking care of differently-abled children. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting of the Haryana government in 2022, now the Finance Department has issued its notification.

Will get benefit from 23 February
In the notification issued by Anurag Rastogi, Additional Secretary, Haryana Finance Department, it has been said that eligible employees will be able to get its benefit from February 23, 2023. The central government is already giving child care leave to single male employees. Like the Central Government, the Haryana Government has now given relief to the employees.

These employees will be eligible
Single male Government servants (widower or divorcee) and female Government servants can avail Child Care Leave for a maximum period of two years (i.e. 730 days) during their entire service to take care of their two eldest children up to the age of 18 years. In the case of disabled children, as per the certificate issued by the competent health authority, the benefit will be given only in the case of more than 40 percent disability and the disabled child is completely dependent on a female or single male government employee.

Till now only women were getting benefits
Till now only women employees were getting the benefit of child care leave. After the approval of amendment in the Haryana Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 2016 in the Haryana Cabinet meeting on 14th December, 2022, now single male employees will also be able to get the benefit of Child Care Leave.
