Chhattisgarh: Man Murders Wife, Kills Himself Two Days After Marriage In Raipur

A man died by suicide after killing his wife just two days following their marriage in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur. The incident took place hours before before their reception ceremony on Tuesday night at Brijnagar under the jurisdiction limits of Tikrapara police station. The deceased have been identified as Aslam Ahmed and Kahkasha Bano.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The couple got married on February 19. Amid preparations for the reception ceremony on Tuesday, the couple went to their room to get ready for the event. A heated argument broke out between the couple after which the man killed his wife using a sharp weapon.

A video of the incident went viral in which the woman is seen lying in a pool of blood on the bed. The body of the groom was found on the ground. The bodies have been sent to Mekahara for postmortem.

However, the reason behind this murder is yet to be ascertained by the police. A Tikrapara police official said that the bride and groom were residents of Raipur.

The police further said that the newly married couple had gone to their room to get ready for the reception and closed the door from inside.

After some time, Aslam’s mother heard the cry of her daughter-in-law after which she went near the room. She knocked the door for some time. However, rhe door was locked from inside. She then informed other family members and relatives.

The relatives broke the room’s window and looked inside and found the bodies lying motionless. They then informed the police.

Senior Superintendent Of Police, Raipur, Prashant Aggarwal said that the investigation into the matter was underway. Multiple stab wounds were found on their bodies.
