The most wonderful time of the year has arrived. From March 22 to March 30, one of the largest Hindu festivals will be held. Chaitra Navratri, the nine-day festival commemorating Maa Durga’s nine avatars, is celebrated with great pomp and grandeur throughout the country.
This festival is observed with zeal by Hindus all over the country. Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri are the nine avatars of Maa Durga who are worshiped on each day of the festival. During the festival, people fast and offer bhogs to the goddess.
Ghatasthapana, also known as kalash Sthapana or Kalashsthapana, is the first day of the festival. It is regarded as one of the most auspicious times of the festival. Ghatasthapana and Sandhi Puja are common rituals observed during both Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri.
Ghatasthapana Muhurat 2023:
The best time to practise Ghatasthapana is in the first third of the day when Pratipada is dominant. The Ghatasthapana muhurta, according to Drik Panchang, is as follows:
Pratipada Tithi and Dvi-Svabhava Meena Lagna coincide with Ghatasthapana Muhurta.
Pratipada Tithi begins on March 21 at 10:52 pm and ends on March 22 at 08:20 pm.
Meena Lagna begins on March 22 at 06:23 am and ends on March 22 at 07:32 am.
Things To Keep In Mind: Ghatasthapana should be avoided during Amavasya and at night, according to Drik Panchang. It is an invocation of Goddess Shakti, and breaking the rules of Ghatasthapana can bring the goddess’s wrath. Ghatasthapana should be avoided during Nakshatra Chitra and Vaidhriti Yoga, according to Drik Panchang, but it is not forbidden.
Pooja Samagri List: Saffron, incense, barley, honeycombs, turmeric bales, flowers, sugar, panchmeva, mace, coconut, sand, clay, betel leaves, cloves, bel patra, amrapatra, the image of Mata Durga, Turmeric, Kalash, milk, fruits, sweets, mustard are all required materials for Ghatasthapana. In addition, devotees light a lamp near the Ghatasthapana area. It is also recommended that the lamp be lit every day of the festival in the Ghatasthapana area while chanting a Maa Durga mantra.
