The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has sent out a strong warning over a fake notification that is making the rounds on social media that says the Farmer’s Protest has caused the Class 12 Board Exams to be postponed. The Board stated that the advisory is misleading and inaccurate in a post on the microblogging site “X” (formerly Twitter). For students taking their class 12 examinations this year, the aforementioned letter brought about apprehension.

“#CBSE FACT CHECK! Beware! The following letter under circulation is FAKE and misleading. The board has not taken any such decision,” the post read.

The fake notification, believed to be issued by the CBSE, claims that issues resulting from the Farmer’s Protest have resulted in a postponement of the Class 12 Board exams. It says that students who are having trouble showing up for the exams can ask to have their exam location or dates changed. The bogus notification also provides specific steps on how to submit these kinds of requests.

However, CBSE quickly dismissed the bogus notice, emphasising that the Board had not made any such decisions. It is recommended that students and stakeholders disregard false information and instead depend solely on official releases from CBSE.

In order to ensure that students and parents arrived at the exam centres on time, the board previously also issued a traffic advisory before the start of the board exams for both classes 10 and 12. Due to current protests, the board recommended Delhi students to use metro facilities.

In the meantime, CBSE has already issued a warning against fake CBSE board social media handles and published a list of accounts that are misinforming the public by utilising the board’s name and emblem. The CBSE reaffirmed its dedication to prompt and open communication about any modifications or revisions pertaining to the Board exams. It advised students to use only the official CBSE website and verified social media platforms to stay informed about authentic information.

The CBSE exams for classes 10 and 12 began on February 15. The exams for classes 10 and 12 will end on March 13 and April 2, respectively, according to the official datesheet 2024 that was made available at cbse.gov.in.
