CBI at Subiresh’s Banshadroni flat

The CBI reached the Bansdroni flat of former SSC chairman Subiresh Bhattacharya in the investigation of teacher recruitment corruption. The detectives kept the flat sealed on Wednesday. When wife Subiresh Babu arrived in Kolkata from Siliguri on Thursday afternoon, CBI detectives went to her house in the afternoon. They opened the seal and started searching.

Wife Subiresh Babu arrived in Kolkata by plane from Siliguri on Thursday morning. Leaving the airport, he told reporters, ‘I am not associated with any corruption. There may have been procedural errors in the appointment but there was no corruption.’

After that they went to a relative’s house in Ballyganj as the house was sealed. In the afternoon, reach from there to the flat of Bansdroni in Brahmapur. Even then the CBI officials did not reach there. A 5-member CBI team reached there around 5.05 pm. They broke the seal and entered the house and searched and interrogated.

Before entering Bansdroni’s flat, Subiresh Babu told the media that since corruption has been detected in SSC, the detectives are regularly visiting the houses of all the officials of the organization. They have come to my house to follow the rules. I have nothing to hide. Let the CBI investigate. I will fully support them. Presently, Subiresh Babu holds the post of Vice-Chancellor of North Bengal University.
