Days after the Kanjhawala hit-and-run case, a man in the nation’s capital was hit by a car and then dragged for half a kilometre on its bonnet in yet another incident of road rage. The accused has been located, and the police are questioning him right now.
CCTV recorded the incident, which happened on January 12 in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden. According to the news agency ANI, the police have filed a case under sections 279, 323, 341, and 308 of the Indian Penal Code.

The incident comes nearly two weeks after Anjali Singh, 20, was killed in the early hours of the New Year after her scooter was hit by a car, dragging her for 12 kilometres. In connection with the accident, seven persons have been arrested. The Delhi Police has suspended 11 of its officers who were on PCR and picket duty on the route where Anjali Singh was killed after being dragged under a car.
In accordance with a report released on the Delhi government website, the capital recorded the highest number of traffic accident deaths in 2021. The information was obtained from the Government of the National Capital Territory (GNCTD) and the Delhi Police’s First Information Reports (FIRs).
In 2021 alone, the capital reported 1,199 fatal accidents and 1,238 deaths as a result of those crashes. Pedestrians were killed at the highest rate (42% in all of these occurrences). It signifies that pedestrians have been hit the most in traffic accidents.
Motorcyclists (36%), pillion riders (7%), and cyclists (4%) were the next most common. The data also revealed that men aged 50 to 54 had a higher death risk. However, data showed that traffic accident mortality among women over the age of 45 was the highest.
The Delhi police revealed numbers in June 2022 indicating that the metropolis had 2,300 vehicle accidents in the first five months. Approximately 500 persons were killed, and 495 were killed in fatal accidents.
