An 8-year-old boy, who was sexually abused at Sehwag International School in Jhajjar, Haryana, has named two boys who did the same to him. This information was given by Jhajjar DSP Rahul Dev himself. He said that initially the child was very scared and was unable to tell anything. After a few days of counseling, the child has expressed doubts on two companions. After this, the police went to the hostel and questioned the children. Questions were also answered from the school staff.
The DSP said that the police had not been able to question and answer the victim child earlier as his mental trauma was not worth it at that time. Now counseling has been done for a few days, so the victim child has been called again on 23 August along with the parents. The parents of both the boys have also been called, whose names have been taken by the child. Police will interrogate all of them.
The CCTV in the lobby where the movement is bad
DSP Rahul Dev said that the CCTV cameras installed in the same lobby and dome in the hostel are bad where all this happened with the child. Why were the cameras in this place only bad? Were the cameras turned off or malfunctioning intentionally? It is being verified. The rest of the hostel and the CCTV cameras installed in the school are working properly.
The police is scrutinizing their footage so that any clue can be found from somewhere. When asked whether there is any possibility that the accused may have damaged the cameras of the lobby? So the DSP said that it would not be right to call anyone an accused in this case. The victim child has only expressed doubts on them and both of them also study in the class of the victim child.
surgeon opinion in a day or two
The DSP said that whether this case should be considered to be completely sexually abusive or not? It is not clear. The police got the child medical done at Rohtak PGI. From there the surgeon’s opinion has not been found yet. The PGI is expected to get this surgeon’s opinion in a day or two. Only then will it be known what was actually done to the child? After the surgeon’s opinion comes, it will help in the investigation of the case.
DSP Rahul Dev said that after receiving a complaint about the incident, the police went inside the school and talked to the staff and the children living in the hostel. What they all have to say does not match the version of the victim child. Since the matter is very serious, the police is taking very careful steps.
Counseling will be done for all the children
The DSP said that as soon as the complaint of the child’s father came, the police had registered a case under the POCSO Act and JJ Act. After that counseling of the victim child is being done. There are many small children staying in the hostel. After this case comes to the fore, the rest of the children living in the hostel will also be counseled so that it can be known that no such act happened with them?
School management helping in investigation
The DSP said that the parents of the victim child live in Hathras, UP. The child expressed his desire to talk to his parents after the incident of sexual abuse took place in the hostel on August 15. When the school management got the parents to talk, the child told about the incident with him. After this the parents of the child reached Jhajjar and after talking to the school management gave a complaint to Jhajjar SP. DSP Rahul Dev said that the school management is giving full help in the police investigation.
August 15 incident
This incident of child sexual abuse took place on the night of 15 August at Sehwag International School. Following the complaint of the child’s father, the police registered an FIR related to it on August 19. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is the founder of Sehwag International School. His wife Aarti is the chairperson of this school. The victim child hails from Hathras in UP and had enrolled in this school in April this year. The child is shocked and scared after the incident.
School management said – the matter of pricking the pencil
Sehwag International School is a day-boarding school where children stay in hostels built on the school campus itself. The entire responsibility of these children lies with the school and hostel management. Meanwhile, the school management says that nothing like this happened.
