Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will join the BJP on September 19. 5-6 former Punjab ministers close to him will also join the BJP. Along with this, Amarinder’s party Punjab Lok Congress will also merge with the BJP. September 19 is also the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP is looking strongly towards the merger of Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress to form a stable government in Punjab. Although the BJP currently has only two seats in Punjab, on the other hand, the BJP is constantly being accused of trying to horse-trade AAP MLAs.

If the allegations turn into reality, then whether to form or save the government will depend on the strength of the MLAs. Discussions about the merger of Captain Amarinder Singh’s party Punjab Lok Congress with the BJP gained momentum when Captain Amarinder Singh held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi for about a quarter of an hour.

Although Captain Amarinder Singh came out after the meeting, dismissing the question of Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) merger with the BJP, terming it as mere speculation, Amarinder Singh also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 30. During this, the Captain had said on Twitter that he had discussed various issues related to Punjab with the PM.

He wrote that after meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after discussing various issues of Punjab, resolved to work jointly for the security of the state and the country, which has always been and will be paramount for both of us.
