Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh will be on Delhi tour today. He will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda. During this discussion can be held to merge Captain’s party Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) with BJP. Apart from this, BJP is going to reshuffle the organization soon in Punjab. This can also be discussed with the Captain.

The Captain had met PM Narendra Modi a few days back. The BJP is also taking Punjab seriously about the Lok Sabha elections going to be held in 2024.

If the party merges, the captain will get a big responsibility.
If Punjab Lok Congress merges with BJP then they can get big responsibility in Punjab BJP. Captain has a political career spanning more than 3 decades in Punjab. He has handled the organization of Congress. Brought Congress to power twice. Then became Chief Minister twice. Taking advantage of this experience of the Captain, BJP will try to make inroads in Punjab. Especially, if the Captain goes directly to the BJP, he can be a big Sikh face of the party in Punjab. The lack of which the BJP is constantly feeling.

Did not benefit in assembly elections
Captain was removed from the chair by the Congress 3 months before the Punjab Vis Elections. After which he left the Congress. Formed his own party and formed an alliance with the BJP. But, in the Vis election BJP could win only 2 seats. Captain himself also lost the Patiala seat. None of his candidates won.
