A big accident happened on the day of Holi in Bihar’s Gaya. A cannon ball fell with an explosion in Gularved village. In this, 3 members of the family including husband and wife were killed, while 3 members were injured. The condition of one of them remains critical. Everyone was playing Holi at the time of the incident. The injured have been admitted to Magadh Medical.
Military firing range is one kilometer away from Gularved village of Boomer Panchayat of Barachatti police station area. Military personnel were practicing at around 8 am on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, a cannon ball fell in his village. 6 people of the same family came under its grip. The rags of three flew away.
Three died on the spot, while two women and one man were seriously injured. He has been admitted to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical Hospital for better treatment.

Govinda Manjhi (29), son-in-law of Gola Manjhi, resident of Dobhi and Suraj Kumar died on the spot in the accident. At the same time, daughter Kanchan Kumari (28) died on the way while being taken for treatment. Geeta Kumari (11), Lachho Devi (30) and Pintu Manjhi (25) were injured. Police reached the spot after getting information about the incident. The family is in bad condition by crying.
In this regard, Barachatti Police Station President Ram Lakhan Pandit said that two people were reported dead due to cannon shelling in Gularved village of Boomer Panchayat of Barachatti. Two to three people are injured. All have been referred to Magadh Medical.
Investigation will be done by forming a committee – officer
City SP Ashok Kumar, who reached the spot, told that a recommendation will be made to form a committee. They will investigate under what circumstances this happened. The injured have given statements. It is told that the shell fell around 9 am. Will be able to say something only after further investigation.
On the other hand, SDO of Sherghati, Anil Kumar Raman told that the firing range is about 400 meters away from the village. Whenever a team comes for firing, it has to take NOC from the local administration before and after the firing practice. NOC has not been taken this time. It is in their guideline that there is no firing on Sundays and holidays. Right now, at first sight, it seems that this is a part of firing only.
Said that according to the information received, 2-3 teams are working there. We are investigating. Only after that it will be known by which team the firing has been done. We will form a committee and investigate it deeply so that such incidents do not happen again in future.
The shell had fallen 15 days ago as well
The Deori-Dumri area of Barachatti block is a firing zone. Army, paramilitary forces often practice here. Practice was going on in the firing zone on Wednesday as well. Villagers say that this is not the first incident. It is alleged that this is directly the negligence of the army and the district administration. It is understandable that shells fall in the firing zone, but how are the shells falling in the village where there is population?
People are telling that such an incident had happened 15 days back as well. A cannon ball fell on a person’s house in Mansadih. Although no person was hurt at that time. Only the house was damaged.

According to the villagers, 20-year-old Raghu Manjhi had died eight months back in the same village after being shot at from the military firing range. Even before this, two people had died in this village. Many animals have also become victims of cannon balls. The reason for this is that the firing range of the military is very close to the village.

Gaya MP Vijay Manjhi, City SP Ashok Kumar, DSP and SDO reached the spot. BDO has given 20-20 thousand rupees to the relatives of the deceased. There, three-three thousand have been given for the funeral. In this regard, SSP Ashish Bharti said that City SP, SDPO Sherghati, SDM Sherghati and other police and administrative officers are investigating the incident in Gularved village. Something can be said clearly only after investigation on the causes and other points of the incident.
