BSF jawan shoots dead four colleagues, kills self | Amritsar News – Times of India

AMRITSAR: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan shot dead his four colleagues before committing suicide with his service rifle in Amritsar on Sunday morning.
According to highly placed BSF sources, a BSF jawan of 144 battalion had some disagreement with his colleagues following which he opened fire with his service rifle killing four of them on the spot following which he committed suicide. The incident occurred at BSF’s Khasa camp near Amritsar.
Senior BSF officials have reached the spot but the exact cause of the incident is not yet known.
BSF inspector general, border range, Asif Jalal couldn’t be contacted for his comments.
According to an official release, the fratricide was committed by Satteppa S K adding that a total of 5 troops including Sateppa lost their lives while one jawan was critically injured.
A court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the facts, said the release.
