Vice Prez Dhankhar To Inaugurate ‘Global Professional Accountants Convention’ In Gujarat On Friday

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will inaugurate ‘Global Professional Accountants Convention’ (GloPAC) in Gujarat capital Gandhinagar on Friday, the organisers of the event said.

The three-day convention is being organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, ICAI president Aniket Talati said, “Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will inaugurate the convention on Friday afternoon at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. During these three days, discussions will take place on various issues, such as audit, accounting, taxation, valuation, forensics, ethics and ways to achieve global competitiveness.”

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and president of the International Federation of Accountants Asmaa Resmouki will also attend the inaugural ceremony, he said, adding that nearly 4,000 chartered accountants from India and nearly 200 international delegates will converge at this international conference.

Ceasefire To Commence On Friday, Hamas To Release 13 Hostages In Qatar-Brokered Deal

A ceasefire between Hamas and Israel will commence from Friday morning and Hamas has agreed to free at least 13 hostages under a deal brokered by Qatar.

Qatar Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majed al Ansari said that Hamas will release at least 13 hostages which mostly include women and children.

“The ceasefire will commence on Friday at 7 AM and it has been agreed upon by both the sides that Hamas will release 13 hostages at 4 PM on the same day,” said Ansari.

He said that the ceasefire will last for four days, starting from Friday. It is expected that Hamas will also release at least 50 more hostages during the four-day ceasefire under a new deal with Israel, he said.

The Hamas is likely to release the hostages through Egypt.
