PM Modi To Inaugurate Barauni-Guwahati National Gas Pipeline On Saturday: Official

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Barauni-Guwahati Natural Gas Pipeline (BGPL), a milestone project linking the North East region to the National Gas Grid, during his visit to Assam on Saturday, a top official of the executing company, GAIL (India) Ltd, said.

This pipeline will provide a dependable source of clean energy, foster economic growth and enhance the overall well-being of the people of the region, GAIL’s executive director (Projects) AK Tripathi told reporters here on Friday.

The 718km pipeline which traverses through Bihar, West Bengal and Assam has been built at a cost of Rs 3,992 crore by GAIL, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, he added.

PM Modi To Visit Northern West Bengal’s Siliguri On Saturday 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit northern West Bengal on Saturday, which will be his third trip to the state this month. During the visit, the PM will unveil infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 4,500 crore in Siliguri, the largest city in the region, and then address a BJP rally.

The PM will inaugurate multiple projects of railway line electrification that will benefit the people of northern West Bengal and nearby areas, an official statement said.

Amit Shah To Attend OBC Conclave In Bihar On Saturday

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Bihar on Saturday to attend a conclave on measures taken by the central government for backward classes, BJP OBC Morcha president K Laxman said. The conclave is being held as part of 10,000 “samajik sammelans” (social conferences) the OBC Morcha is organising across the country, Laxman told a press conference on Friday.

“We are approaching the Lok Sabha polls. The OBCs and the EBCs (extremely backward classes), which together comprise more than 50 per cent of the population, need to be told what the Modi government has done for them in the last 10 years,” he said.
