The girl has been identified as Tapasvi (20), a dental student. She came in contact with the accused Ganeshwar (24) on social media two years ago. Their friendship blossomed into love, but they were at loggerheads over the past few months. After this the accused wanted to talk to the girl, but the girl kept refusing.

Police complaint against the accused
A few months back, the girl had also filed a police complaint against him, following which the boy was counseled to stop harassing the girl. Tapasvi was living with her friend at Takkelapadu near Guntur for the last one week. After knowing the address of the girl, Ganeshwar went there on Monday and tried to talk to the girl.

Meanwhile, there was an argument between the two. Enraged, the boy took out a surgical knife and slit her throat. Seeing this, Tapasvi’s friend ran out of the house to call the neighbors. Ganeshwar dragged the blood-soaked ascetic to an adjacent room and locked the door before the locals arrived.

Police registered a case
As soon as the neighbors opened the door, he tried to cut his hand, but the people overpowered him and handed him over to the police. The girl was then taken to a private hospital in Guntur, where she succumbed to her injuries. Police has registered the case and started investigation.
