On Friday, the BJP created a ruckus in both the houses of Parliament on the statement of the wife of the nation. The BJP MPs remained adamant on demanding an apology from Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Thereafter, both the houses were adjourned till Monday. Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister Smriti Irani met President Draupadi Murmu separately.

The sit-in of 27 suspended MPs over the uproar in Parliament also ended on Friday. He had been sitting in front of Gandhiji’s statue since Wednesday. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on the end of the dharna said- MPs were partying in the name of demonstration. Chicken was being eaten sitting under the statue of Gandhiji.

Smriti met President, Adhir has not got time yet

Union Minister Smriti Irani had surrounded the Congress in Parliament over the controversial statement made regarding the post of President. On this, he also had an argument with Sonia Gandhi on Thursday.

Union Minister Smriti Irani, along with her cabinet colleagues Dr. Mahendra Munjpara and John Barla, met President Draupadi Murmu amidst uproar over the controversial statement on the President. Smriti has called it a cordial gift.

At the same time, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who made the controversial statement, had also sought time to meet the President on Thursday. Adhir had said – I will apologize to the President, not the hypocrites. According to sources, he has not been given time till now.
