The candidates recruited under Bihar Police ASI Steno falls under Level 5 of the salary structure. The basic pay of Rs 29,200 is handed to the candidates, without any deductions or incentives at the end of the month. It increases with promotion and experience during service. The selected candidates for ASI Steno are entitled to additional benefits and allowances after they join the service. It includes a Dearness Allowance ( DA) of Rs 3,504, House Rent Allowance ( HRA), Transport Aid of Rs 600 to 1500 and Medical Allowance of Rs 1,000. Apart from this, Ration Money Allowances of Rs 3,000, Vehicle Allowance of Rs 2,500 and Uniform Allowance of Rs 900 are added to their basic salary.
The House Rent Allowance ( HRA) differs with the cities. For Tier 1 cities, the HRA is Rs 4,672, Tier 2 cities are Rs 2,336 whereas for Tier 3 cities it is Rs 1,752. After adding the incentives and allowances given by the Bihar Police Department, the final salary for the ASI Steno post lies in the range of Rs 42,456 to Rs 46,276, as per the qualification and location of posting.
